How to Select Brokerage Options in UPS Forwarding Hub

Modified on Fri, 17 Jul at 10:55 AM

Overview

UPS Forwarding Hub may recommend import and export brokerage options based on your shipment details, including the selected Incoterm, shipment parties, brokerage responsibilities, and saved preferences.

These inputs guide the brokerage recommendation given by the UPS For, but you can still select a different option.

When to Use This

Use this article when you want to:

  • Review or update brokerage selections before submitting a quote, booking, or pickup request
  • Use a third-party broker instead of UPS brokerage

Before You Begin

Make sure you:

  • Know the shipment Incoterm
  • Have accurate shipment-party information
  • Have third-party broker information available if UPS brokerage will not be used

It's good to understand:

  • That brokerage responsibilities may differ between the shipment origin and destination
  • Export brokerage is associated with the shipment origin and supports export customs processing when required.
  • Import brokerage is associated with the shipment destination and supports import customs processing when required.

3. Provide third-party broker information if required

If you choose a supported brokerage arrangement other than UPS brokerage, additional broker information may be required depending on the workflow and shipment scenario.

5. Confirm before submitting

Before submitting your quote, booking, or pickup request, review your brokerage selections to make sure they match your shipment requirements.

What Happens Next

After you confirm your brokerage selections:

  • Submit your shipping request
  • Brokerage charges and information is added to your quote, booking, and/or pickup request.
  • If you are using a non-UPS broker, it's possible that additional broker information might be requested, as needed.
