How to Change Your Default Settings

Tired of inputting the same information over and over again? Personalize your quoting preferences for quicker quotes.  This will save you time!

There are two ways to navigate updating your settings, through profile settings or from your dashboard tiles. Choose a method below that's convenient for you and follow the steps to update your settings.

Method 1: From My Profile

Navigate to and select 'My Profile' (top right corner of screen),

select 'My Preferences'

Click 'My Preferences' 

Method 2: From Your Dashboard

 If you are on your UFH Dashboard locate the 'Setting Up for Success' tile.

 Click 'Set up your Quote Preferences'

Now you should be on your 'My Preferences' page.  Follow these steps to continue changing your default settings.

Select 'Quote Presets'

Click a 'Category' and 'Change Default Settings'

Understanding the Different Default Setting Options

It's important to update the settings that remain the same across most of your shipments.  The settings you choose will auto-populate as you navigate through the quoting process. Not sure what some of the settings mean, check out these summarized descriptions to help you select the right options.

Payment & Currency

• Payment Terms:  If you mostly use the same payment conditions for your shipments, setting this as a default ensures consistency. For instance, if you typically require prepaid freight or collect freight, you can set it here to save time. 

• Currency:  Select the currency you primarily deal with for your transactions. This option ensures clarity and reduces errors when calculating shipping costs.   

Quote Form Display

• Guided Form:  This step-by-step format walks you through the quoting process, making it ideal for new users or those managing complex shipments. 

• Single Page Form:  This provides a streamlined view, allowing users to input all necessary information on one page, best for those familiar with the quoting process.  

Quote Auto Share

• Add contacts:  Set up your preferred contacts to automatically share quotes with customers, partners, or team members, simplifying communication. 

Mode Transportation

• Air:  Choose this if you frequently ship via air freight for faster delivery times. 

• Ocean FCL (Full Container Load):  Ideal for shipments requiring a full container, often for larger or heavy shipments. 

• Ocean LCL (Less than Container Load):  Suitable for smaller shipments that share container space with others.   

Origin Details

• Pickup Details:  Add pre-set information for regularly used pickup locations, expediting the process during quotation.  

• Specific Account Number:  Input account numbers tied to specific carriers or suppliers for faster referencing.   

Destination Details

• Delivery Details:  Input account numbers tied to specific carriers or suppliers for faster referencing.   

• Specific Account Number:  Include account information linked with delivery partners for smoother operations.   

Insurance & Brokerage

• Add Insurance:  Ensure consistent protection for your shipments by setting a default insurance preference. This provides peace of mind for loss or damage. 

• Add Destination Brokerage Services:  Streamline customs clearance by setting up brokerage services for your shipments to specific destinations.
