Overview
A blind shipment helps protect your business relationships by limiting who can view shipment details.
You can hide the shipper’s information from the consignee (Blind Pickup), hide the consignee’s information from the shipper (Blind Delivery), or apply both options to restrict visibility between both parties.
When to Use This
Use the blind shipment when:
- You want to prevent the shipper and consignee from seeing each other’s details
- You are working with third-party vendors or intermediaries
- You need to maintain confidentiality in business transactions
Before You Begin
Make sure you understand the following:
Blind shipment options must be selected during the booking process and cannot be added after submission
Blind shipment functionality is available for most transportation modes; availability may vary by service type or region
- Special handling fees may apply and are displayed during booking based on service, location, and contract terms

Configure a Blind Shipment
Option 1: Blind Pickup (Hide Shipper from Consignee)
Use this option to prevent the consignee from viewing the shipper's information.
Steps:
Log in to UPS Forwarding Hub
Start a new shipment booking
Go to Pickup Information
Locate the Blind Pickup section
Select Hide my shipper details from the consignee
Result:
- Shipment details are hidden from the consignee on applicable documents and notifications
- Standard customs documentation requirements still apply, and some information may remain visible where required
Option 2: Blind Delivery (Hide Consignee from Shipper)
Use this option to prevent the shipper from seeing the consignee's information.
Steps:
Continue to Delivery Information
Locate the Blind Delivery section
Select Hide consignee details from shipper
Result:
- Shipment details are hidden from the shipper on applicable documents and notifications
- Standard customs documentation requirements still apply, and some information may remain visible where required
Option 3: Double-Blind Shipment
Use this option to restrict visibility between both the shipper and consignee.
Steps:
Enable Blind Pickup during Pickup Information
Enable Blind Delivery during Delivery Information
Result:
- Shipment details are restricted between both parties on applicable documents and notifications
- Certain information may still appear where required for regulatory or operational purposes
Review and Submit
Before submitting your booking:
Review your shipment details
Confirm your blind shipment selections are applied automatically
Review any applicable fees displayed in the booking summary
Submit your booking
Your selected blind shipment options are applied automatically after your booking is submitted.
After You Submit
After your booking is submitted:
- Your selected blind shipment settings are applied automatically
- Shipment visibility is restricted based on your selections
- Hidden information remains accessible only to authorized parties
